How it works

  1. Type what you know. A full name, a username, a business, a hashtag or a few words you remember from a post.
  2. Every network gets the same search. Each one runs through Google's index of that network's public pages, so you see what anyone can see without signing in.
  3. Compare and open. Results sit next to each other, one screen per network. Click any result to open it on the network itself.

Why you don't need an account

Most social networks put their own search box behind a login. The pages themselves are often still public, and Google indexes them. BuzzGlobe asks Google about one network at a time, so one box does the job of a dozen apps and logins.

It also means you're not logged in while you look. Nothing you search here shows up in your own feed, your recommendations or anyone's notifications.

What it can't find

  • Private accounts, and anything shared with friends only.
  • Stories, DMs and posts set to disappear.
  • Posts from the last day or two, because Google needs time to find new pages.
  • Pages a network hides from search engines.

If someone doesn't turn up here, the usual reason is that they keep their profile private. That's their call to make.

Tips for better results

  • Put a full name in quotes. "Sarah Okafor" finds that name, not every Sarah on Facebook.
  • Add a town, a school or a job. "Sarah Okafor" Leeds nurse cuts the list down fast.
  • Take out words you don't want with a minus. jaguar -car finds the animal.
  • Try a handle with and without the @. Some networks index one and not the other.
  • Tick Images only to scan profile photos and picture posts quickly.

Search one network

Each network has its own page with tips on what works logged out and what doesn't.

Questions people ask

Is BuzzGlobe free?

Yes. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to install. The site is paid for by the ads you see on it.

Will someone know I searched for them?

No. A search here goes to Google, not to the social network, so nobody is told. If you open a result while you are logged in to that network in the same browser, the network sees that visit like any other. LinkedIn, for example, can show members who viewed their profile.

Do you keep a record of what I search?

No. We do not store searches and our server logs are deleted every 24 hours. Google processes each search to return the results, under its own privacy policy.

Why can't I find someone I know is on Instagram?

Their account is probably private, or Google has not indexed it yet. New accounts and new posts can take days to show up. Try the username search if you know their handle.

Why are X results thinner than they used to be?

X limits what logged-out visitors and search engines can see, so fewer of its pages are in Google. Profiles still show up well. Individual posts are hit and miss.

Is it legal to search social media like this?

Searching public pages is legal. What you do with what you find still has to be. Do not use BuzzGlobe to harass, track or impersonate anyone.

Here since 2013

BuzzGlobe launched in 2013 as a tool to allow visitors to search every social network without logging in. Back then the tabs included Google+. The networks have changed a lot since, and TikTok, Threads and Bluesky have joined the list, but the idea is the same: one search, every network, no account.

Use it to find people and long lost friends, check out a business before you buy, or see what's being said about a topic everywhere at once. More about us.
