Search LinkedIn without an account

LinkedIn's search is for members only, and signed-in members can see who viewed their profile. Public LinkedIn profiles are indexed by Google, though. Search here by name, job title or company without logging in.

Know the handle? Open the profile

Public profiles usually open without a login when you go straight to the address.

What you can see on LinkedIn without an account

Checked October 2026

You can find

  • Public profiles: name, headline, current job, location and often past roles.
  • Company pages and their posts.
  • Articles and posts that members made public.

You can't find

  • Full profiles. Logged-out visitors get a shorter version.
  • Contact details and connections.
  • Profiles whose owners switched off public visibility.

How to find someone on LinkedIn

  1. Search the name in quotes plus a company or job: "Sarah Okafor" nurse.
  2. Don't know the name? Search the job title and town: "head of marketing" Manchester.
  3. Open the result while logged out. LinkedIn shows a short public profile and doesn't record you as a viewer.

Search tips for LinkedIn

  • Headlines read like CVs, so use job words: "product manager" fintech.
  • Try a past employer. Profiles list old jobs and often rank for them.
  • Search a company name on its own to find its page, staff count and locations.

LinkedIn questions

Does LinkedIn tell someone if I view their profile without logging in?

No. LinkedIn only records views from signed-in members. Opening a public profile from a search result while logged out doesn't show up for them.

Can you search LinkedIn without an account?

Not on LinkedIn itself, because its search needs a login. Public profiles are in Google, so a search on this page finds them.
